Graceful Expression’s on its way
to competition this weekend
hormonal dancers for three days
loud music, make-up, sleepless haze.
Graceful Expression’s on its way
and I, a cafFIEND zombie, sway-
ing back and forth, offbeat will spin.
Graceful Expression’s on its way
to competition this weekend.

Graceful Expression is the name of my daughter’s dance team. It’s quite an event.
Nice triolet, Laurie! Good luck to your daughter! I love the name “Graceful Expression.” Makes me smile.

“…a caffeined zombie sway…” When my son’s band played had the same effect, but it wasn’t caffeine at that time. smiles
Ha! I loved the caffeinated zombie. Been there! But my daughter played travel softball — same grueling hours for us!
Nice job Laurie.
Love this! I definitely count myself as a caffeinated zombie most days.
Oh, Laurie, you are SO much fun! I used to think you were so very serious! What a clueless ol’ lady I was! I just love the graceful expressions of the caffeinated zombie!
Wonderful…!
hormonal dancers = teenagers YAY great!!! meta!!! phor!!!
Oh have fun! I feel a bit like a caffeined zombie today…great line!
ha, yeah better make that a venti coffee…smiles….those competitions can be fierce…and lots of emo as well…smiles….nicely done
Laughing, Laurie. Have fun with the crazed young ones, as I had reading your triolet.
ahhh…the hormonal dancers…glad you cleared that up…HA
well done…the triolet has such a smooth flow
Peace ☮
Good luck! Poem portrays the days/daze! K .
With all its innuendo, this triolet underlines a half-serious, half-humorous intent, well-balanced within the form.
lovely triolet carried the form well, graceful expressions is a great team name! ~ Rose
Wow…reminded me of marathon sleepovers my girls would have in the summers with their friends…exhausting! The feeling came through clearly in this.
wow…sounds fascinating…wishing you and your daughter lots of fun with this…happy dancing..smiles
i like repetitiveness this , it had a bit of a beat. I could almost see the zombie caffeinated dance. well done.
Hold on to this. I think “dance” may be like figure skating (read this as Hotel California {you can never leave}) and if, like me, you become more than a “mom” you may need this to light up a newsletter or the joy of a team. Good luck at the competition. “I had a love of my own, like yours…”

PS loved the way you worked the form!
Lovely use of the form. Dance and the musicality of the triolet are a natural pairing.
You have fit to form a frenzy and desire that becomes that much more heightened within the strictures of the form. Very sonorous, intensifying the experience.
Hormonal dancers and caffeinated zombies. Wow! Hope Graceful Expressions wins! Let us know when you get back!
Good luck to them, Laurie.
Great way to use both prompts. It sounds like a wild frenzied time.
Who’d be a mum!
I want to steal your word “caffiend”! It’s wonderful. I suspect dance moms might have a lot in common with hockey moms, no?
Great stuff, Laurie.

How fun!
Cool manner in which you worked the form Laurie – very nice – love the name of your daughter’s team … wishing her every bit of good luck at the competition!

hey yay! go yay! oops, i guess that’s cheering, not dancing.
i love this. love it. can’t wait to hear how they do!
I have resembled this poem on many an occasion…cool form and great poem all together…hormonal dancers…I love it.
Love this…oh and I love dance competitions.. So wish I could have seen it!!
Looks like fun….good luck to them ~
Happy weekend ~
Oh, very well crafted! Good luck with that! hahaha
Awww….I love dance crews, Laurie, especially the young ones. One TV dance crew show – Got To Dance – is all the rage in the UK at the moment.
Well penned poem and inspiring too. Wishing your daughter and the rest of the crew all the best at the event. Hope they have fun.
Terrific triolet – go easy on the caffeine, but do have fun.
Wow, I love the direction you went in! I had a zombie weekend, this reminds me of it~ I love it!
