2013: A Year for Love

Paint the new year red,
with two-thousand thirteen
people side by side, ankles
crossed, thumbs and forefingers
forming hearts in the sky

and one, two, three:
let go in unison, a wave
of love across our land,

join hands in prayer
for love and peace–
paint the new year red.

  30. From ur poetic pen to the powers that be…a lovely wish for 2013!

  31. “Red” — you mean Republican, or blood.
You aren’t Chinese, so it ain’t that.
With the idealistic view of everyone waving heart signs,
I thought this may be sarcasm.
But maybe Red is your favorite color.
    Hmmmm
But I guess the title tells us Red = Love
May it be so — but I doubt it, unless finances and security improve.
    Hmmmm
