The Canary Stage

Artwork by Kim Nelson

Artwork by Kim Nelson

Her alluring, lacy sighs
And pitter-patting emerald eyes

Captured weary hearts,
Who from the very start

Tried to change her cunning ways
In fashion through most stunning days

And passionate nights, burning love
They thought for sure she must dream of

Until like the others, they were caged
Canary birds, her trophies staged
