Henry and Adele by Judith Clay
Where might the moon
and Henry meet as one?
A fluted lullaby
within the dark of night
that if he plays for her,
his fear undone–
the melody a lunar
stream of light.

There is a definite magic in music played beneath the moon….especially on a dark night. Nice one, Laurie.
i like the connection i feel in this…between him and the moon….each providing what they have to each other….happy saturday laurie…smiles.
What a wonderful and dreamy poem.

I like the melody from lunar, fearless & uniting both souls ~ Good one Laurie ~
The man in the moon smiled, and Henry was illuminated. Thanks, great read.
Nice little lullaby Laurie!
Lovely…the feel of communication between the boy and the moon on the notes of a flute ♥
As long as he plays, the magic is there…
Reads like a children’s lullaby book. So sweet.
Pitch perfect atmosphere! Beautifully done.
This is a delight. The meter and rhyme fit the image to a “T.” I agree with Jlynn. It litls like a lullaby.
..good for him to have found a companion in the dark who could listen to his music unbiasly… smiles… loved this…
Ah! I like the magical flow of the words. Beautifully done.
What does one lonely soul do to get himself woo the moon, but a flute with soulful and lingering music. That’ll be nice! Beautiful one Laurie!
This feels so sweet and dreamy! It makes me feel peaceful and soothed. Very beautiful!
Playing for the moon sweetly eliminates fear in this lyric lullaby!
Nice idea here for J. C’s painting…music does something to us!
Laurie I have read and written silly stuff, not nice stuff … but this is very beautiful. Sweet. You brought Henry alive.
The moon can definitely influence…beautiful
A beautiful melody under the moon…
Laurie, I liked how you formed a relationship between the boy and the moon. Will they ever meet, or will he simply bask in her silvery light? Musical and lovely. Amy
This is the sweetest!
For sure his tune would change her glow!
I used the same painting. Unfortunately, I posted to late and the Mr. Linky isn’t open anymore.
It is interesting seeing all the different poems generated from the same work.
Your first stanza pulled me in. Nice beginning. And I like “A fluted lullaby
within the dark of night”.
I am tantalised by the rhyming scheme of your poem. It’s gentle and sweet, just like the print.
Wow what else is there left to say but I like it? I LIKE IT!
